Retnuh - 2 Murmurs [Part 1]
Music composed and sequenced by me using FL Studio and various VST plugins. The song "2 Murmurs" is from my 14th full length album "Murmurs I" (released May 2009), which is part of a 4 album electronica/ambient/industrial concept entitled "Murmurs I-IV." Each of the 4 albums contain 2 relatively long instrumental tracks. The 4 album concept in a nutshell: The story revolves around an imprisoned criminal accused of murder and violent conduct towards children. Through his prison cell bars he sees fields of green, and his envy for free people consumes him. He enters a trance, of sorts; an alternate state of mind, a separate reality inside his head, where he hears murmurs. These murmurs bring him back from his vileness, and he wants to change: thus when he breaks out of prison, he proves all of his sceptics wrong. This track focuses on the specific events which result in our protagonists' incarceration. Because of the instrumental nature of this series of albums, in order to truly appreciate the narrative behind the concept, it is necessary to listen to the tracks with knowledge of the story in mind. However, this series of songs was not created merely as a medium from which a story may be told, but to be listened to while going to sleep, or as a soundtrack for daily life.
